llms.txt generator

Your site’s name, a one-line summary and its key pages in, an llms.txt out, in the format the proposal sets. It runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere. Who reads the file is another question, answered on llms.txt explained: Google says Search ignores it.

Nothing leaves your browser.

The format

From the proposal, llmstxt.org, read on 29 October 2026:

  • An H1 with the name of the site. It is the only part the proposal requires.
  • A blockquote with a short summary, with what is needed to understand the rest of the file.
  • Any details, as paragraphs or lists, without headings.
  • Sections under H2 headings, each a list of links: - [name](url): notes, the notes optional.
  • By convention, a section called Optional holds secondary links, the ones an agent can skip when it needs a shorter context.

Whether you need one

The file is a proposal, not a standard, and it is not robots.txt: it lets nothing in or out. Who reads it, from the companies’ own documentation, is on llms.txt explained. What decides whether AI search can read your pages is robots.txt, and the robots.txt validator shows it bot by bot.
