Slow response to clicks and taps (INP)
Interaction to Next Paint from PageSpeed, page by page: above 200 ms is flagged, above 500 ms is what Google calls poor. INP measures how late the page answers a click or a tap; it replaced FID as a Core Web Vital in March 2024.
WarningPERF-006 · Performance · checked on every page
Where it usually comes from
Heavy JavaScript on clicks and taps, many third-party scripts, and long tasks that block the browser.
This check needs speed measured by Google PageSpeed. It runs only when that measurement is part of the audit; without it, the audit leaves it out rather than guess.
How to fix it
- Find the slow interactions in Chrome DevTools, Performance panel, and split the long tasks behind them.
- Load third-party scripts later, or drop the ones nobody uses.
How to check it yourself
Run the page through PageSpeed Insights and read Interaction to Next Paint in the field data.
What it looks like in a report
Warning INP measured: 380 ms, above the 200 ms threshold. · /category/*
The filters run a heavy script on every click; the page answers a beat late. (An example shop; the numbers are illustrative.)
How the audit counts it
PERF-006 is a warning in the performance category, and weighs moderately in that category’s score. When it appears on many pages built from the same template, the report shows it once, with the number of pages it covers — because one change in the template fixes all of them.
If the finding is deliberate on your site, it can be accepted as intentional in the report. It then leaves the list and the score, and comes back on its own if what it shows changes.

A Trakis audit runs this check and the other 65 on your site, and tells you on how many pages each one sits. Or go back to all the rules.
