Article without headline or date
Article structured data without a headline or a date. Headline and date are the minimum for an article to be understood as one, and dates are what search engines and assistants use to judge freshness.
NoticeSTRUCT-005 · Structured data · checked on every page
Where it usually comes from
Blog themes that output Article markup with only a name, or dates stored in a field the template does not read.
How to fix it
- Add "headline" and "datePublished" to the Article block, and "dateModified" when the article is updated.
- Use full dates with a time zone (2026-09-29T10:00:00+03:00), taken from the same field the page shows.
- Name the author as well — a Person or the Organization — so the article says who stands behind it.
How to check it yourself
Run an article through the Rich Results Test and check that headline and datePublished are listed.
What it looks like in a report
Notice Article without headline or datePublished. · /blog/*
The blog template outputs Article markup with only a name. (An example shop; the numbers are illustrative.)
How the audit counts it
STRUCT-005 is a notice in the structured data category, and weighs lightly in that category’s score. When it appears on many pages built from the same template, the report shows it once, with the number of pages it covers — because one change in the template fixes all of them.
If the finding is deliberate on your site, it can be accepted as intentional in the report. It then leaves the list and the score, and comes back on its own if what it shows changes.
