Close to the first page
Pages ranking between position 4 and 15 with at least 100 impressions. These are the pages closest to the top of the first page, where most clicks go. Improving a page that is already nearly there usually pays more than starting a new one.

Where it usually comes from
Pages that are relevant but a little weaker than the results above them — thinner content, fewer internal links, a less specific title.
This check needs the site’s traffic from Google Search Console. It runs only when the owner has connected it; without it, the audit leaves it out rather than guess.
How to fix it
- Strengthen the page for the searches it already appears for: a title that names them, content that answers them completely.
- Link to it from related pages on the site, with link text that names the topic.
- Measure again after a few weeks in Search Console; positions move slowly.
How to check it yourself
In Search Console, filter Performance by the page and sort its queries by position; the ones between 4 and 15 are the opportunity.
What it looks like in a report
Notice Position 9 with 600 impressions in 28 days. · /category/boots
The page is at the bottom of the first page; a few improvements can move it where the clicks are. (An example shop; the numbers are illustrative.)
How the audit counts it
GSC-002 is a notice in the on-page category, and weighs moderately in that category’s score. When it appears on many pages built from the same template, the report shows it once, with the number of pages it covers — because one change in the template fixes all of them.
If the finding is deliberate on your site, it can be accepted as intentional in the report. It then leaves the list and the score, and comes back on its own if what it shows changes.
