Several H1 elements
Pages with more than one H1. Several H1s blur which heading is the page’s subject. It usually comes from a logo or a widget marked up as H1 in the template.
WarningONPAGE-007 · On-page · checked on every page
Where it usually comes from
A logo marked up as H1 in the header, plus the page title as another H1 — or page builders that let every section start with an H1.
How to fix it
- Keep one H1: the page’s own title.
- Turn the others into H2 or plain text in the template that produces them.
How to check it yourself
Search the page source or the developer tools for <h1 and count them.
What it looks like in a report
Warning The page has 2 H1 headings. · evidence: "Example Shop" / "Winter boots"
The logo is marked up as an H1 on every page; the second one is the real title. (An example shop; the numbers are illustrative.)
How the audit counts it
ONPAGE-007 is a warning in the on-page category, and weighs lightly in that category’s score. When it appears on many pages built from the same template, the report shows it once, with the number of pages it covers — because one change in the template fixes all of them.
If the finding is deliberate on your site, it can be accepted as intentional in the report. It then leaves the list and the score, and comes back on its own if what it shows changes.
